Place receipts in the envelope on the PTO Bulletin board. Baked Beads will donate a percentage of each sale to our PTO.

Directions: Take your best route to 89 South for approximately 49.6 miles. Take VT 100 south exit 10 towars US route 2 ( about .02 mile) . Stay straight on US route 100 (about 1.4 miles). At some point you will need to vear right to stay on us route 100 (about 11.8 miles). You will take a right turn onto Carroll Road. #46 in at the end. Total miles approximately 66.15 miles

PTO Meeting Notes
March 9,2006

Old Business
Read all about it. Our PTO was in the March 2006 Vol. 7 #5 , PTO Magazine for exemplary fund raising. The article describes our book fair program as a community event that turns book sales into new books for the school.

New Business
The Carnival Committee meets on March 29th@4:00p.m.
There will be a carnival kick-off assembly for students in March describing the theme for this year’s carnival.

New committee members and officers are needed for our PTO. A letter will be sent home to parents next week asking for volunteers. Teachers please get a note to Kris Bachand in the PTO mailbox if you know of any parents that will be willing to help out. Thank you.

Look for an update coming soon about the current status of our Schoolwide Discipline Committee.

PTO Mtg. Minutes for 12-01-05


PTO notes
Meeting Date: Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005

Old business: We are still looking for a chairperson for Fundraising or President. Sandra Casavant is unable to do both jobs.

New business: Craft night was discussed. It is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 7th. It is from 6-7:00. Tina reviewed the craft choices,. Volunteers are needed. Popcorn and juice will be served. Students are asked to bring in a non-perishable item as a donation.

Carnival Committee: Meetings will start in January. Proposed changes were noted to move the DJ farther from the building. The guard may lend a sound system for the event.
Grade K and grade 8 Tues. June 8th All other grades Tues. June 13th

Town and City PTO Meeting: Sheila and Kris reported back about the get together. Town has a monthly party. They have movie night which will be researched further for our school by Kris and Lucy. An idea came up to have the Town host a get together for kids and we would reciprocate. A karaoke night was discussed.

Other business:

The idea of selling refreshments at the band concerts to benefit the band trip brought up. Kim Smith is ready to contact people to bring in food donations of brownies and rice krispie treats to sell on Tues. Dec. 20th. Sandra or Kim will contact Mrs. Riggs for the okay.

P.E. can use manpower at sporting events with the food concession. With parent volunteers the kids can sell hot dogs, and popcorn. Renie passed out schedules for the season and the Spirit Breakfast is set for Dec. 22nd, 7:15-8:15.

Lucy D. discussed different fundraiser ideas. Tech Savy kids could take pictures at school events , print and sell the pictures to raise money. Photo permission was discussed.
Lucy is doing research in Blogging in education. She could provide dialogue around Blogs. She has a survey for parents to take part in concerning internet safety. Parents can do the survey online.

Emily from the Open Doors Program is on the agenda for the Jan. 5th meeting, at 3:00 p.m.

Welcome

Welcome to the St. Albans City School PTO community. The PTO is a partnership of parents, teachers, students, administrators and the community at large whose goal is to assist the school community in providing the best possible education for our children. We exist due to the involvement of volunteers. Please consider attending PTO meetings and/or becoming active on one of our several commitees.

Committees include:
Open House, Book Fair, Welcoming, Communications, Fundraising, Publicity, School Pictures, Carnival, Craft Night.
